Scenic River License Plates

As of July of 1995 a special scenic river license plate went on sale at all Deputy Registrar's offices. The plate depicts a great blue heron in flight over an Ohio waterway. Sales of the plate generated $157,755 during 2000 for ODNR's State Scenic Rivers Program. Funds are used to support projects that strengthen the preservation and protection of Ohio's remaining high-quality streams, including the Big Darby Creek which flows along Brown Township's western boundary.

In 2000, 10,517 drivers purchased Ohio scenic river license plates. You can show that you care about the future of Ohio's Scenic Rivers by purchasing a set of beautiful Scenic River License Plates for your vehicle. Each plate costs only $25 above the normal registration fee, with $15 going directly to Ohio scenic river conservation program. Requests for these plates may be made at any deputy registrar's office or by calling 1-888-752-8373.
